A moment of madness

As I pulled up to the shop where I do my fortnightly grocery shopping, I glanced down, and saw (with horror) that I was still wearing my slippers!!!

I sat there, in the car, for a moment and contemplated going home. But only for a moment. It was already 7.45pm and I was tired. So although the drive home was only 5 minutes, I chose to just go with them.

I was a bit sheepish and embarrassed to begin with and checked frequently to see if people were looking at my feet. They weren't. I guess my slippers could pass for boots after all. But who wears bright pink, slightly grubby, boots with jeans and a nice grey cardigan?
Me, I guess.

What do you think? Would you have gone home?

To be honest I probably wouldn't have, but that would only be because I would have been too embarrassed... mind you saying that I have seen many people out here in the boondocks with pjs slippers etc, going in to the local foursquare.... and I have been known to enter our New World in gumboots too.... good on you for taking the plunge :)

Now THOSE slippers you can totally get away with. Mine on the other hand...? faux leopard skin flipflops with a grey satin bow on the side (a mothers day gift)... I would have gone home for the shoes. BUT you totally rock those pink boots and nonone would raise an eyebrow!

Hmmm..I could probably get away with it in my yeti boots ......just! But I would have sat there pondering like you did for a while before deciding whether to pluck up the courage!! Great little 'slice of life' story Penny!
